Nutrition
We know that good nutrition contributes to effective learning in children. Numerous studies have demonstrated that eating healthy will boost your child's ability to learn, to think quickly, to pay attention, and even to get along with others. Childcare centers play a critical role in supporting the wellness, health, and development of
children through the provision of nutritious foods. In particular, child care providers have a powerful opportunity to instill healthy habits in young children that serve as a foundation for healthy choices in life.
Our center is currently participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. This program allows us to provide nutritious meals without increasing the center's fees to you. We are responsible for ensuring that all persons have equal access to the program.
Our child nutrition program includes breakfast, lunch, snack, and supper. Every meal and snack is nutritionally balanced and meets CACFP requirements regarding food components and portion size. The menus are available for parents to pick every week.
Breastfeeding
Elite Learning Academy will encourage and support all families to continue breastfeeding their child until at least 12 months, in line with current recommendations. Our service recognizes that families have the right to decide whether they will breastfeed their child while they are in care, and each family’s decision will be accepted and respected. Our center will work with families with children who are breastfed by providing a supportive environment by feeding children expressed breast milk supplied by their families and by providing suitable spaces and resources to mothers breastfeeding their babies at the childcare center.
Special Dietary Needs
Some children may have very specific food requirements due to allergies/food intolerances, their cultural background, or other family preferences. Our center will work with families to make sure individual children’s needs are met. We take special care to ensure that food allergies and special dietary needs dictated by medical conditions are catered for. Our educators will help children understand the seriousness of allergies and the importance of knowing the signs of anaphylaxis, along with ways they can support their friends. We believe children are never too young to look out for one another and we all want to be included and made to feel part of the community.
Child Care Subsidy & Financial Assistance Programs
Workforce Solutions Child Care Services (CCS):
At Elite Learning Academy, we believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and cognitively stimulating environment to grow—regardless of a family’s budget. We understand that choosing the right preschool is a major decision, and navigating the costs shouldn’t be a barrier to your child’s bright future. That is why we proudly partner with Workforce Solutions to offer Child Care Subsidy at Elite Learning Academy.
What is a Child Care Subsidy?
The Child Care Services (CCS) program provides primary financial assistance to eligible families. This subsidy helps cover the cost of child care so parents can focus on work or school, knowing their little ones are thriving in a high-quality learning environment.
Is My Family Eligible?
While eligibility is determined by Workforce Solutions South Plains, subsidy is generally available to families who:
- Reside in the Lubbock area (including counties Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, King, Lamb, Lynn, Motley, Terry, Yoakum).
- Are working, attending school, or participating in a job training program for at least 25 hours per week for single parents, or a combined total of 50 hours per week for two-parent households.
- Meet income guidelines based on family size.
- Have a child under the age of 13 (or up to 19 with documented disabilities).
Pro Tip: Even if you aren’t sure if you qualify, we encourage you to apply! Workforce Solutions often has priority groups for certain industries or family situations.
How to Apply for CCS
Navigating the application process can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Here is your simple 3-step guide:
- 1. Check the Waitlist: Visit the Workforce Solutions Financial Assistance page to see the current status of the waitlist and eligibility requirements.
2. Submit Your Documentation: You will typically need your child’s birth certificate, proof of residency, and recent pay stubs or school registration.
